Dear list members,

WIPO has nominated a new Director General. After a long nonmination
procedure Mr Kamil Idras from Sudan was selected.

Mr. Idris was, since 1994, Deputy Director General of WIPO. The offical
appointment itself is expected to be made by the General Assembly of WIPO
in September 1997.
