Dear colleagues

Two short matters: the fixed date of the June CELIP SG meeting and some
hints for the workshop programme forming.

1. The SG meeting will be in June 15-16, as was informed on December. This
is the rightowner meeting - if we will have there some rightowners!!!

2. Hints for the workshop programme

Mircea will arrange the first workshop in April, and he asked for some
hints about the programme. I drafted for him some titles, which can be
useful for you, too. An important point still is, that in countries which
seem to have more experience in licensing matters, I use more time for
telling about concrete examples from abroad. If the issue is new for most
librarians, I'll concentrate on basic terminology

CELIP workshop programme, an example. See also the notes at the end!!!

· (10-30 min.) Opening by a representative of the partner library
association, and some greetings, if you want
· (30 min.) Presentation of changes in library work in electronic
environment, basic concepts in licensing matters by Tuula Haavisto
· (1 hour) Overview of the international licensing situation, model
licenses and licensing principles, consortium forming and actions by Tuula
Haavisto
· Two alternatives:
        · A) (30 min.+30 min.) If you have some licensing arrangements (e.g.
the SOROS/EBSCO project) in your country, a short presentation
about it/them, followed by the presentation about the national
        contract law.
        · B) (30 min.) If librarians in the concerned country have no
experience about licensing arrangements, only a presentation of
        your national contract law.
· (1 hour) Concrete examples about licensing arrangements in some
countries by Tuula Haavisto
· (30 min.) Presentation of some licensing statements by e.g.
EBLIDA/ECUP&CECUP and TECUP etc. by Tuula Haavisto
· (30 min.) Presentation of the European Copyright Focal Point, including
the CECUP Webpages by Tuula Haavisto
· (30-45 min.) Discussion of possible solutions led by the workshop leader
· (if there is time, 30 min.) Update on the EU Draft Copyright Directive
by Tuula Haavisto
· breaks 15 min. + 1 hour + 15 min.

All together in maximum 8 hours, which can be made in one day, or divide
in two. The last one can be left out, up-dating the copyright directive.
I can also tell my presentations in shorter time, but you should reserve
me time in minimum three hours (in the maximum version there is four hours
for me).

Tuula
