Welcome to My Room

Welcome to my Room. As you can see, I love everything old & antique. When I come from the job, I use to sit on my Biedermeier chair, switch on the classical music and read stories about Nicky & Alix (the last imperial family of Russia). In a fact, I have a huge collection of books depicting the beautiful, lost days of human civilization. Why I do this? It is not too far from the truth to say that the "modern" society and its outputs are nothing but crap. Humanity has seen eras one after another with full of harmony, sweetness and outstanding cultural achievements. Present time is nothing but an umbra of shadow compared with these golden eras.

To be more precise, the achievement of past eras such as renessaince, barocco and rococo periods created a kind of subtlety of expression, which was never attained in the 20th century. The reason is very simple, the 1st World War was such a shock to collective humanity that it never got over that. The art of 20th century (futurism, kubism, dadaism etc.) reflcts only the sickness of humanity after such a horrified massacre as the world wars.

Psychologists say that a room depicts the person living there. This might be cent per cent true with me & my room. If you'll come to see, you could notice dozens of pictures and photographs presenting different Russian saints, other great personalities as well as my relatives. In addition to that I have plenty of Russian icons, vases, plates and needle works (in fact, I have stitched some of them myself).

I have a vast library. Naturally there are lots of books about art, but I also read about tantra, occultism, vegetarian cooking, mysticism, astrology and history. Actually I have a sound knowledge about any of them, I use to give lectures on various subjects for example in the Theosophical Society of Helsinki.

what's the time

What I do in my room? Mostly I just relax and dream about a better society. I have a special corner in my room for meditation. When time allows, I use to spend hours and hours in silent meditation. This gives me a lot of strength to go on. It is a kind of method for going through the clashes and cohesion of everyday life. More about my meditation you'll find in the following page.
