Economic Data Spring 1999
(Excerpts from SAK's publication)
- In 1998, the Gross National Product was FIM 676 billion (1 FIM
= 0,167 Euros or 0,171 USD in 08.06.1999)
- According to the estimates provided by the Ministry of
Finance, GNP will increase by 3.6 per cent in 1999 compared to the last year. In 2000 the
estimated rate of growth will be 3.0 per cent
- In 1997, the GDP per capita in Finland was FIM 107,000 which
was slightly lower than the EU average
- During 1999, the rate of unemployment is expected to be, on
average 10.2 per cent. In 2000, the rate will be 9.5 per cent which would be lower that
the EU average
