CALL FOR PAPERS: International Conference on Copyright and
the Cultural Industries: Economics, Law and Management

Conference Committee: Ruth Towse, KCW Erasmus University
Rotterdam. Professor Dr Roger van den Bergh, Faculty of Law,
Erasmus University Rotterdam,
Professor David Throsby, Macquarie University, Sydney

Dates: 11 - 12 September, 2000

Place: Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Purpose: to focus on issues connected with the administration of
copyright and neighbouring rights in the cultural sector; the arts,
heritage and the cultural industries (film, broadcasting, sound
recording, multi media, etc).

Participants: people working in copyright administration, the cultural
industries, governments, international bodies, economists, lawyers,
management scientists, and others with a professional interest in the
area.

Keynote speaker: Professor William Landes, University of Chicago.

There will also be a panel discussion by copyright administrators
invited from a variety of countries and parts of the cultural sector.

Papers are invited on any of the above-mentioned topics. Please
submit a 100 word abstract BY E MAIL with your name, affiliation,
postal and e mail address by 15th March, 2000. If selected, your
paper should be ready for circulation by 15th July.
