The WIPO Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights held its first
session in Geneva from November 2 to 10, 1998. Issues to be considered were:

* Protection of Audiovisual Performances
* Protection of Databases
* Protection of the Rights of Broadcasting Organizations

The full report of the meeting is now available at the WIPO website at:
http://www.wipo.int/
under section "What's new" of 19 January 1999.

The Standing Committee is planning to hold its next session from May 4 to
11, 1999.
