Dear list members,

Oxford University Press (OUP) has started a trial project to give
people the chance to buy complete electronic copies, or individual
chapters, of selected classic text books directly from their Web-site.
The material is all held in encrypted Acrobat PDF files which can
only be read by a special version of the Acrobat Reader, which
users can download from the OUP site together with the necessary
software.

The encryption and access control software comes from C-Dilla of
the UK. Each chapter will be a seperate file. There is also an
'Introduction' file containing the title page, forword, introduction,
table of contents, reference list and index. This file has not been
encrypted, but compressed so that the reader can download the file.
It is interested to note that this service is provided for free.

For more information about the Oxford University Press project,
please contact: Mr Tom Peacock via PeacockT@OUP.co.uk

Kind regards,
