TAKU is the The Finnish Union for Professionals in Arts and Culture. Since 1991 TAKU has been a member
association of the Central Union of Special Branches AEK within
AKAVA.
Members of TAKU are staff of state and municipal cultural affairs, intendants, artists, managers
of cultural centers and festivals, or project secretaries and administratiors in civic eduacation.

Membership
You can become a member of TAKU if you are working either in public sector or in a private
educational instituiton or working in the arts and culture branch. Graduate and postgraduate
students can become members provided that the board of TAKU accepts them.
AEK is a central trade union for culture experts, people in public administration and business.
The mission of AEK is to promote the social, educational, professional and occupationla
well-being of its branch unions and their members.
