Just a quick reminder that the deadline for submissions to WIPOUT, the
intellectual property counter-essay contest( counter, that is, to WIPO's
contest) is 15 March. All details, including more than 40 posted essays,
are
available at www.wipout.net We, too, are going to announce our winners
and
award prizes on 26 April...which, it should be noted, is also Chernobyl
Day.

It's that time of year again...
WIPO, the World Property Intellectual Organisation (WIPO) has
announced that it is "observing" World Intellectual Property Day on
26 April 2002 (sounds like a religious occasion) with a variety of
events, activities and new public outreach materials centred around
the theme "Encouraging Creativity". The winners of last year's
essay competition will be announced and there will be a new WIPO
creativity award. Watch out for more information on: www.wipo.org.
Last year saw the launch of a WIPO counter-essay contest to
highlight negative developments across the IP spectrum.
