IGC meeting in Brussels

Dear friends,

On 21 June 1996 the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly will host a meeting in Brussels within the framework of our activities towards the EU's Intergovernmental Conference (IGC).

This meeting will precede the manifestation the hCa is organising in Dublin in November 1996 to coincide with the Euro-Summit on IGC in Dublin.

We present the following structure to focus our discussion on four aspects of the European integration. Our goal is to develop concrete suggestions for the effective reorientation of EU policy.

1) Peace
Peace and the European Integration seen from a Europe in a Post - Dayton
period.
2) Democracy
Citizens's input at the different levels of governance
3) Citizenship
Seen from the perspectives of minorities and immigrants
4) Welfare
The unemployment in Europe
We will inform you very shortly on the programme and details for the meeting in Brussels.
