In the Spring of 1996, The New York Public Library will
open the new Science, Industry and Business Library
(SIBL), which will be the world's largest public
information center devoted solely to science and
business. SIBL will utilize cutting-edge library
technology to facilitate users' access to its
collections, services and information products. The new
library will occupy 160,000 square feet in the landmark
former B. Altman building at 34th Street and Madison
Avenue.
