Leena Krohn / Curriculum vitae

Leena Krohn was born 1947 in Helsinki. She studied philosophy, psychology and literature at Helsinki University. She lives as a free writer in Helsinki.

Leena Krohn has written about twenty books, novels, short stories, fantasy stories for children, poems, essays and radio plays. The fantasy story Ihmisen vaatteissa (Humanly Clad) has been translated into Hungarian, Swedish, Japanese, Russian etc. In English you may read The Gold of Ophir and Donna Quixote and, soon, Tainaron, too. Krohnıs collection of stories and essays, Matemaattisia olentoja tai jaettuja unia (Mathematical Beings or Shared Dreams), was awarded the Finlandia Prize (1992). Other essays are Tribar and Kynä ja kone (The Pen and the Computer).
