Council-owned, the Nalliaukio block houses 82 rental flats. The design aims are economical plot use, utilising the differences in level, efficient staircase feeding, large frame depth, structural simplicity, and full use of prefabricated units. The architecture was primarily realised in the poetry of cold structures: the free rhythm of the balconies and the adjacent sheltering walls; the strong, yet critical use of colour and the free openings of the wall surfaces.
