The Finnish ambassador's residence is located in the park-like fringe area of the old town. The house was originally built as a private residence in 1911. Both the interior and the exterior were in poor condition when the renovation started.

The aim was to preserve and partly to restore the original character of the building by integrating the new installations into the valuable old spaces as inconspicuously as possible. The reception rooms are located on the ground floor, the ambassador's private residence on the first. The original colours, decorative paintings and parquet floors were constructed on the basis of some fragments found in the reception rooms.
