The terminal is placed as a table-like extension against the side of the old bridge by Kirkonkyläntie road, reflecting the dynamics of two intersecting traffic forms. The pendular nature of bus traffic lent the terminal deck and platforms their concave form. The swiftly passing rail traffic can be perceived from a distance in the fluttering form of the main canopy, reminicent of a smoke trail from a steam engine passing the old railway station.

The structure of the lower bus platform canopies are like mushroom caps made of thin steel sheets, the lower surfaces of which have been stiffened with wedgelike shafts.
