Teboil Rajahovi petrol station is situated in Vaalimaa, the busiest checkpoint on the Finnish, and indeed the European Union's, eastern border.
The structure forms a shallow steel cylinder presenting a similar character in both directions approach. A glass-roofed internal corridor divides it into two sections: a shopping market on one side and the restaurant and filling station area on the other. The building's simple basic form is enhanced by the massive canopy structures, which also serve as scaffolding for advertisements.
