St Joan Pla de Corts - Travelling instructions

Fly to Nice or Barcelona.


Nice - Perpignan

Take the train (Rome - Port Bou) to Perpignan.

From Perpignan, continue either by bus or car.


From Perpignan by bus

  1. Take the bus to Ceret. The bus leaves from the Gare Routière, by the riverside, but first stops by the railway station, where you can conveniently wait for it.
  2. Get off at St Joan Pla de Corts. The stop is at the St Joan roundabout.
  3. Cross the road, and you will soon be on Avenue du Canigou. After an S-bend and a small downhill you should be on Avenue des Albères. Continue a couple of blocks until you hit Rue du Mairie.
  4. Turn right and walk Rue du Mairie three blocks. When you see a small square with plane trees on two sides you've made it.

From Perpignan by car

  1. Rent a small car in Perpignan for about 1500 FF a week.
  2. From Perpignan take the N9 road to Boulou.
  3. From Boulou take the D115 road towards Ceret.
  4. After about 3 km you come to one of those (there are hundreds of them) roundabout crossings from where you can go to Vivés (to the right), Ceret (straight) or St Jean (to the left).
  5. Turn left here and you will be on Avenue du Canigou. After an S-bend and a small downhill you should be on Avenue des Albères. Continue a couple of blocks until you hit Rue du Mairie.
  6. Turn right and drive Rue du Mairie three blocks. Stop when you see a small square with plane trees on two sides.

You should make it from Perpignan to St Joan in less than an hour.


From Barcelona..

From Barcelona, continue by bus or car.. That is, after you have seen Gaudi's Sagrada Familia & his other works.

..by bus

  1. Take the bus to Perpignan.

In Barcelona, rent a car.

  1. Drive the highway north.
  2. Drive through Girona.
  3. Drive through Figueres. That is, after you have seen the Dali museum.
  4. Drive through Jonquera.
  5. Cross the border.
  6. Drive to Boulou.
  7. From Boulou take the D115 road towards Ceret.

You should make it from Barcelona to St Joan in 2 to 3 hours.
