1. Check the booking status on the 'reservations' page.
2. Make a booking, by either
- clicking the 'plus de reservations' link,
- contacting your host, or
- contacting le patron (contact data on the 'associes' page).
Note: Guests can make bookings maximum 4 months ahead - if the booking
is further ahead, it must be checked for validity 4 months before departure.
3. Prepare by familiarizing yourself with the map ('plans, cartes' page) & reports
written by previous visitors (links on 'reservations' pages).
4. Prior to departure, remember to get the key to the house from your host.
5. Fly to Barcelona.
6. Rent a car.
7. Drive to Jonquera at the French border;
- take the highway north,
- drive through Girona &
- drive through Figueres (after visiting the Dali museum that is).
8. Cross the border to France.
9. Drive to Boulou.
10. From Boulou take the D115 road towards Ceret.
11. After about 3 km you come to one of those roundabout crossings (there are
hundreds of them) from where you can go to Vivés (to the right), Ceret
(straight) or St Jean (to the left); here
- turn left and you are on Avenue du Canigou
- after an S-bend and a small downhill you should be on Avenue des Albères
- continue a couple of blocks until you hit Rue de la Mairie.
12. Turn right and drive Rue de la Mairie three blocks until you arrive at a small
square with plane trees on two sides. You are there - voilá !
(Minimum non-stop driving time from Barcelona to St Joan is 2 to 3 hours)
13. Park the car.
14. Find 3 Rue de la Mairie &
- unlock the front door (with the key aqcuired under p. 4),
- switch / turn on electricity & water (write down meter readings) &
- inspect la maison.
Enjoy your stay ..
15. Clean & wash up (bed sheets can be left to dry in the attic).
16. Write down issues if any. Collect any accumulated mail.
17. Lock up.
18. Drive back to Barcelona (do reserve enough time - Barcelona is easy to get
lost in - especially when in a hurry ;-).
19. Return the car.
20. Fly back.
21. Return the key plus mail if any & report any issues to your host.
22. Pay for your visit ('paiements' page):
- essentially 12 € per person (guests) per night, plus electricity
- to account Nordea 200118-82052 / Martin Ollus, 'St Joan, käyntimaksu'.
23. Write a report of your visit (if you feel for it & want to have it in the archive) &
mail it to your host.
