Meltdown review by The Observer: "Patti has the power" Another
Meltdown interview by The Guardian: "This will be the most social
experience of my life," says Patti Smith of curating the South Bank Meltdown
festival. "I don't interact with a lot of people; I don't know a lot of famous
people. I work very simply. I spend my time with my children and my work. I stay
home and listen to opera. But when they asked me to curate the Meltdown, I thought,
'I will now have to totally immerse myself in a way I have never done.' I tend
to be insular and opinionated. But for this, I want to, and will, work alongside
people. I'll perform myself, but if anyone else needs a bit of backing vocal,
clarinet or a shirt ironed, I'll be there." "Patti's
