From
the press release: "Thirty years ago, a young poet released one of the
most exciting debut albums of all time. Patti Smith meshed high art with three
chord rock & roll to create an ambitious, unconvential and thrilling album
that would anticipate punk by a year or two: Horses. Produced by ex-Velvet Underground
John Cale, this revolutionary rock & roll masterpiece continues its unparalleled
influence on rock music, style, and culture to this day, with artists such as
Michael Stipe citing its powerful effect on their own work. The album is regularly
ranked as one of the most essential albums ever recorded by the media, including
Rolling Stones, Q, and NME.
